When the CZ Scorpion first hit the market, enthusiasts of the platform immediately noticed something was missing from the much desired pistol platform. Fans were calling for options when it came to the grip and the angle of the grip, much to what they were use to on other common platforms. This is where Yeti Wurks came in…
Yeti Wurks is veteran owned company that splashed onto the CZ accessory market for the Scorpion and introduced two grips that gave owners the ability to choose between the Yeti Wurks Everest Grip or the Yeti Wurks Matterhorn Grip . Users of the Scorpion embraced the grips with open arms, but quickly split with deciding which one was better- leading to a hash tag war of #teameverest and #teammatterhorn.
Yeti Wurks quickly got to work on creating a grip that would end the bantering as to which was the more superior grip…And we got our hands on the Yeti Wurks SwitchBack. We first got this grip in and immediately swapped it out on our demo CZ Scorpion to replace the current Matterhorn grip. It came in a modern designed package and included the grip, both back straps to replicate the Matterhorn and Everest design, pin, and bottom plug. With the design of the Scorpion, the grip removed easily with the single screw and replaced it quickly with the Yeti Wurks Switchback within seconds.
The back of the grip allows for the two straps to be interchanged by simply sliding them up and down. We were surprised as to how easy this was. The straps were tight and snug when installed, but moved freely to allow for easy switching of the backs. A single pin secures the strap in place once the desired strap is installed.
We chose to keep the Everest back strap installed and pushed the pin in. Everything installed with ease and fit great. A side by side comparison of the Switchback and the Everest Grip shows how similar they truly are. The photo does show variations in color, but that is not the case. The colors are very similar to each other and match the CZ Scorpion nicely.
If you are on the fence on which Yeti Wurks grip to buy, the new Switchback has you covered. We found it nice to be able to switch between user preferred style of grips with just the use of a single pin in a matter of seconds. The straps slide on and off easily and can quickly be done during a range trip.
The Yeti Wurks Switchback Grip is listed on their website for $49.99, saving you $10 from making a choice between the Everest or Matterhorn Grip – But this may be an introductory price. Be sure to follow Yeti Wurks on Facebook to keep up with the release of when the Switchback will become available.
